Prayer
Prayer is from your heart, don't just memorize a prayer, say what is in your heart! Pray to God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, but do not pray to any other, no Saints, no martyrs, no family members.
The only one who can hear your prayer and answer prayers is God, which includes God the Father and the Son, Jesus Christ. They are one and the same. God is a jealous God. Praying to anyone or anything other than God will bring the wrath of God.
Exodus 20:5-6. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.
Prayer
The Lord's Prayer is an example or model prayer, but maybe it's also a format for prayer.
Give glory and praise to God, then thanks for all you have.
Repent if you sin, ask Jesus to forgive you.
Thank God for blessings in your life.
In prayer, ask only for what you truly need.
Pray to be protected from the evil in the world. Also you can ask for God's mercy for trials in your life and other's lives. Ask for mercy, blessings, healing, and comfort for those in need. But, ask for and pray for all these things in the name of Jesus Christ whom all things come and were created by Him.
Matthew 6:5-14
Why we pray, before we eat!
For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving; for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
1 Timothy 4:4-5
Prayer and praise
And He shall live;
And the gold of Sheba will be given to Him;
Prayer also will be made for Him continually,
And daily He shall be praised.
(Psalm 72:15)
Pray without ceasing
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Do not use vain repetitions
And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.
Matthew 6:7
Pray only to God the Father and God the Son
The model pray begins with our Father. Our Father is God in Heaven. Jesus Christ is the Son of God, in Heaven seated at the right hand of the Father.
The Bible says to baptize in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Bible also says to only worship God. So you should pray only to God the Father and Jesus Christ the Son.
How do you know your prayers are heard?
golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people.
(Revelation 5:8)
