Behold, the message of salvation
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
Jesus died on the cross, so that by grace you might be saved.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. (John 14:6)
Believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who suffered and died on the cross for the forgiveness of all your sins
I'm a good person, won't I go to Heaven?
It is by Jesus Christ you are saved by grace, and because you were bought for a price, you serve the living God, sometimes by doing good works, but works alone, without Jesus Christ, leads to death. See above what Jesus says.
And if it is by grace, then it is no longer by works. Otherwise, grace would no longer be grace. (Romans 11:6)
For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance as our way of life. (Ephesians 2:8-10)
But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:22-23)
A good person or a bad person, without Jesus Christ in their life, there is no life, after death.
When you believe in your heart, that Jesus Christ is your Lord, and God, and redeemer of sin, then there has been a change in you. When you truly believe in Jesus Christ, you will turn from sin, and change from your old self to a new self, one now that turns from sin and this is what is called being born again!
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works... (Ephesians 2:8)
There is much to know, but you don't need to know it all at once. Getting involved in a church will help you in your growth in knowledge, wisdom and your faith in Jesus Christ. It's worth it, for all will die, but few will find salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Listen to this message from Dr. Charles Stanley, Saved and Sure
It's not long and will build confidence in your understanding of belief and salvation. It has references, so get a pen if you want to take notes, it's excellent.
Saved and sure, Part 1
Saved and sure, Part 2
It points out that grace from Jesus Christ will forgive all sin, nothing else is an atonement for sin, because Jesus paid it all and any other atonement is stealing the glory of God.

As you read the Bible, remember that Jesus Christ wants you to worship and pray in the spirit, it's not a physical relationship, except you are living in a physical body, which can be a burden you'll see, as you read in the Bible.
But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” (John 4:23-24)
God's Word, the Bible tells us what kind of life we should live to honor God. As seen above, you need to have a spiritual relationship with Jesus Christ. What does this mean? At first it may seem like a one sided conversation, but then as you grasp that God is omnipresent, meaning He's everywhere at all times, seeing and hearing all that we do, so there is nothing you can hide from God. But that makes it easy to talk with him constantly, because you are never alone. Give praise, give thanks and pray throughout your day, because God is present, always.
Read Isaiah 43, it's a good model for our lives, don't get hung up on words, look for the meaning of living a life honoring our Lord and Savior.
